Good working Practice
An inspector in the Bristol area recently observed this example of good working practice at a construction site. The inflatable air bag shown in the photograph (sometimes known as an air wedge) is designed for lifting loads of up to 135kg. This inexpensive lifting aid was being used at the site by carpenters to help with positioning while fitting heavy doors. Simple aids like this can take the strain of the materials weight while they are being installed, therefore reducing the risks of musculoskeletal disorders over time
